If you downloaded the runtime patch from BBW you simply have to reboot phone after install.

Don't try to open it...nothing will happen if you do try.

Power button while simultaneously pressing volume up & down at the same time till you see the red LED come on and off and then release all.

    Cheers!

Your clipboard info (when you copy/paste).... that's about it lol

No. You're not losing any of your data on a reboot.

No need to press power button. Just volume up and down is enough untill the phone goes off!!

No need to press volume up and volume down either---just hold the power button down until you see the red led then let go.

I think it is not what is coined as hard reset and I was correcting the post made by whoever that power button is not necessary if volume up and down is pressed.

The "hard reboot" can be completed either with pressing both volume rockers simultaneously or by "long press" of the power button. The result is the same.
There is a BlackBerry support bulletin which notes that either is acceptable. I'll post a link to it as soon as I track it down.

Yeah, I've never really understood why people do the volume up, volume down thing. To me it is a bit harder to do and also you end up with a screenshot to delete.

If you hold down the power button alone it turns off the phone, and then you need to turn it on again yourself
The volume keys have the same effect except it powers back on on its own

    Not holding down long enough.
A reboot requires you to hold power button down for about 20 seconds until red LED flashes and BlackBerry boot logo reappears.
What you have described is simply powering device off.

You can't remove the runtime. It's a core part of the operating system.
