I have some really old software for a phone I don't have still on my 2009 iMac. It may be the cause of my iMac freezing up in mail, calendar, App Store, iBooks, etc. I was working with an AppleCare specialist and they think that this is the root of my problem. We've uninstalled the application as best as we could.

I'm not a Mac user, but I would do this...
Default download location is in ~/Downloads.

Double-click the BlackBerry Desktop Software.dmg image to mount it.Click BlackBerry Desktop Software Uninstaller.Click Continue to confirm the removal. If the Mac computer is password-protected, type the password when prompted and then click OK.
