The length won't change but you can adjust to another tone etc.
Settings | Notifications | Normal Everyday | Customize | Text (make your adjustments)
In the last 6 os leaks have the same issue, so try to use a very short notification sounds, 2 to 4 seconds... There is no fix yet for that... Even in the official latest os.
There was a limit that was put in that limits to 5 seconds. This is fixed in 10.3.2 to allow up to 2 minutes of tone.
