I want to buy a new battery for my BB Passport. Optus (the Australian mobile phone company) tell me that I have to back up the data on my BB Passport first. To do this, I need to install BB Link on my laptop. If I download link and try to install it, I get the error message from my laptop (running Windows 10) that I already have the newest software. It seems that there are remnants from a previous Link installation (a long time ago) in the registry that prevent me from installing BB Link and hence from backing up my phone and hence from the battery replacement.

Try to locate the file on your computer delete it and reinstall link. If that doesn't work, you can always get a backup app in the appstore.
