I sometimes wish to block my callerid (#31#) and then dial a number from my contacts. However, once I dial the prefix I can't make the phone dial the contact, I have to retype the number.

Is there an easier way to do this?

In the phone app, swipe down from the top and click Settings. Then select Show My Number and turn it off. Remember to turn it back on when you're done.

The only other way is to dial the complete number #31#555-252-1234

I found that it's quicker to just dial #31# compared to going to settings and turning it on/off.

However, after #31# there appears to be no way to tell the BB to dial the number associated with a contact (without manually entering it, copy paste, etc)....that's what I'm really asking for. Is there a way to do this?

No way to do it for a contact, unless you edit the contact to include the prefix in the phone number.
