    Even if you get it working Whatsapp will leave legacy BlackBerry devices (like yours) behind come July. And unlike BB10 you can't load the Android version and hope for the best.

    If Whatsapp is so vital, use a different phone.

    You can't. You can use the current available version of WhatsApp until June 30th, and then you will need to get an iPhone or Android phone.

    Buy a BlackBerry PRIV, DTEK50, DTEK60 now or KEYone when released. Those are your BlackBerry choices for now.

    Your phone should run Whatsapp fine on OS7.1. If youd like to install the latest BBOS, head over to this thread, grab the most recent software and update your phone.
