I just don't understand if it's a Microphone issue or hardware issue? Volume and audio should be a key component on any smartphone, especially one that is made for the business oriented individual. Eg, conference calling has become a pain, as nobody can hear me clearly. Another example is using video for presentations or even a Snapchat , the audio is very low and distorted, causing me to constantly raise my voice. ???

External microphones don't work on the K1 and this the case with lots of phones when shooting video. Oh well.

If you have a problem with low audio levels on phone calls with a Blackberry Keyone, I can tell you how to fix the problem in two minutes and get much louder, clearer audio on phone calls. Download the app called "Headphone Equalizer" and set the equalizer as follows. All the settings should be flat except 3000 cycles. Boost the 3000 cycle fader all the way up to the top. The difference will be amazing. This is called the Fletcher-Munson Theory invented for phone eq in the 1930s. Look up the Fletcher Munson Theory on Google and you'll see why it works. This will only work with phone calls through a headset or ear piece. It won't help if you use the speaker phone, but I think most people use ear pieces of some kind for phone calls.

I have a similar issue, the volume at which I can hear others speak and them hearing me is much lower than using another phone as as test mule right after the other. It's actually lowest volume device i have used.

Is there a fix or just quality of the mic etc?

I did try volte functions and other experiments.
