BB user for 15+ years. Hard Return or Carriage Return next to a word on traditional BBs never deleted the word next to it. Example - Hello JohnHard Return) advance to the next line and off you go typing. Just like a regular word processor.

On BB Priv (Verizon) a hard return behind Hello John: without a space following ":" will result in "John:" being deleted as the cursor advances to the next line. This happens a majority of the time in the HUB but not all the time. I am still old school and use the physical keyboard for almost everything.

Does not seem like the correct behavior for a device.

Does this happen on your device?

Does anyone know of a fix?

    Hard to break old habits.

Thank you in advance for your help.

It may have something to do with autocorrect. For example, as you type you are getting word suggestions that can be selected and populated into the text by hitting return.
    Just a thought though.
