    Hello,

First off, I am a first-time poster, so please excuse me if I haven't adequately provided the required information or if this post/question is in any way redundant. I am trying to install Google Play Services onto my Q10 (running 10.2.3.556) and have followed the Cobalt instructions but am unable to get the Store up and running (receiving the "Unfortunately, Google Play has stopped working" error). I read that there may be a way to patch the Google Play Store app but also read that that app isn't patchable and should be downloaded and installed as is, which is what I did.

Is there a clear set of instructions somewhere (with the most current download links) to install these apps for the Q10 running my OS? If not, I'd also be open to simply installing working versions of common apps (Uber, Lyft, Via, etc.) rather than installing the Store if that's not possible.

Again sorry if this has already been asked/solved -- and happy to provide any additional information needed.

Thanks so much for your help!

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, these are the set of instructions that I've already followed unsuccessfully. I've also tried clearing data and unregistering and re-registering my Google ID as suggested in the FAQ section. I'm wondering whether there are any newer versions of the applications that I should be installing instead or whether there's a patch for the Google Play Store APK, or something else that I'm missing?

You must install the version of Google Play Store provided on Cobalt's landing page. He has all the latest versions of his apps there.

Thanks for the response. I've deleted all the previous apps I was using and just began to follow Cobalt's instructions from the beginning. However, I am unable to install the first component (GMS file: Google Play Services 8.4.89). When I try to open the file, I'm getting a message saying "unable to open the file"). Since I haven't been able to complete Step 1, I haven't been able to move forward.

    Again, I'm on a Q10 running 10.3.2.556.

    Thanks again.

Make sure all of Cobalt's files have apk extensions. If they don't, add them yourself.

    Just use the file manager.

And just rename the file with a ".apk" extension?
