I'm a new Classic owner and have seen a lot of people talk about battery and lag issues with the Classic when using and having Google apps installed from the Google Play store.

Are there any specific apps to avoid or does having the app store installed create issues in the first place? Thanks!

Obviously any application will place a drain on system and power resources.
With BlackBerry apps for the most part we can selectively limit system use in app preferences. The ability to do so with Android apps isn't entirely there without limiting app function.

If you are using a BB10 device system drain is one of the evils you have to deal with in order to benefit from the additional apps available through Amazon or Google play.

I can't identify any specific apps to avoid but generally I've found that regardless of the device I use, apps which require location services are frequently the ones that place more of a burden on the device . One way of minimizing that drain is by avoiding duplication of services. E.g. One weather app, one mapping app etc.
