I am a fourteen year old who is on a budget. I really want a blackberry with a keyboard, possibly for tracfone. I cannot afford the KEYone and probably not the passport either. I would like a phone that does not require a service fee to be paid directly to blackberry. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!

The DTEK50 is on sale now at ShopBlackBerry. It's an Android slab, and will run all the apps from Google Play Store.

If you want one with a keyboard, on a budget: Q5, Q10, Classic.

Best to go with DTEK50, it gives you Android ecosystem with BlackBerry DNA, no additional service costs to BlackBerry and is the least expensive of the new BlackBerry Android devices. Ignore any suggestions for BB10 phones. No reason for anyone to send a young person down that rabbit hole.

Go with the Priv. I think I just saw many brand new Priv on ebay for like $220, so used should be even cheaper. In any case, imo, do NOT go with BB10, you'll regret it eventually if not immediately. Priv is an amazing phone specially for the current price

I would recommend the DTEK50, but if you absolutely have to get a keyboard, get a Priv.

You could probably pick up a priv pretty reasonable. You'd have the option then of a vkb or pkb. A lot of folks complain about it but I've been using mine for over a year without issues

Me too. Over 8 months now since brand new with ZERO problems! I'm so happy with it that I don't feel I need to upgrade. Even with the Keyone out there I don't feel that rush because my Priv is just excellent and the design is beautiful specially without a case with all that rear exposed and beautiful curvy edges on the screen. Not to mention how perfectly thin the phone is

The Classic would be great but maybe hard to find at $150 or less. That being the case I'd look for a lightly used Q10. It's got a great keyboard, a nice screen, and is very well built. It will do you just fine.

Here's a very recent review (throwback) of the Q10 I just found:

    Good luck!

I was mistaken: you CAN get a new Classic for $149 on Amazon. I saw a few at that price. If you can swing 150 I think the Classic is the one to get.

That's a great deal. Go for it. You will love it. The fact that it will be brand new is great too. Nothing like a brand new phone! Enjoy.

Do you use apps like snap chat, Instagram and the likes? If so you're not going to like any bb10 phone.

Look for a Z30 if you want a touch screen. Way better phone all round with a much better battery life. I'm still loving mind and have no desire to upgrade.
