1080i isn't "really" full HD, but that said....

What error message do you get when you try to play the file?
Does the file play, but it is very jerky or laggy?

It says sorry the video format is not supported...... note the video format was mkv
And I didn't mean UHD. YouTube says 1080 is full hd

Probably, for the beginning, you should take a look at this:

    To add for the OP....
    The Z10 supports:
    • Audio/Video Codecs: H.264, MPEG-4, H.263, AAC-LC, AAC+, eAAC, MP3, PCM, Xvid, AMR-NB, WMA 9/10, WMA10 professional, WMA-LL, VC-1, VP6, SPARK, PCM, MPEG-2, MJPEG (mov), AMR-WB, QCELP, FLAC, VORBIS

If the Audio or Video encoding codecs in the MKV video package are not on the above list, then the file will not play on the native Video app.
However, there are third party media apps that add greater codec coverage.
Personally I use KalemSoft Media Player to play files my Z30's native media apps can't handle.

    Basically it's like this:
In order for a movie to be watchable on a computerized device, the video and audio of the movie has to be converted, called encoded, into a format that the computerized system can read.
To encode, various types of formats, called codecs, are created to put the video and audio into a computerized file.
As there are many, many, different companies that make these codecs, there are in-turn many, many different formats floating around in the computerized world.
Because of this variety, and the costs for obtain the rights to use those various codecs, many players can only handle a smaller portions of those codecs.
There is no "one codec to rule them all".
So, companies, like BlackBerry, have to tailor their player to use what codecs BlackBerry owns or has rights too. If the movie file wasn't encoded in the codecs BlackBerry has, it wont play.
Due to this "lack of coverage", third party companies obtain more codecs to put into their players, to fill in the gaps and make some money doing so.

To play mkv files MX Player and VLC Player for Android should work on the Z10. MX Player is the best one but none of them support DTS 5.1, so your movies audio will have to be been recorded in Stereo.
