I have a 32 GB SD card in my Dtek50. I would like to copy the contents to a new 64 GB card for my soon to arrive Dtek60.

Do I have to format the new card? Should I put it into the new phone first and see if the Dtek60 wants to do it for me? I will be using it as external storage.

I will be doing a content transfer and will do the SD cards separately. Is that the best way?

    Thanks.

Just copy the contents to your computer, format the new card in your device, and copy everything back into the appropriate folders.

The folder structure should stay the same since you're going from Android to Android, so yeah, just store it on your computer in the in-between. And make sure to get this on your phones if you haven't already: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ry.exfat&hl=en

I don't have that app. What does it do? Should I put it on the Dtek50 AND the Dtek60 when I get it? Is it only for the larger SD cards? I think the Dtek50 reformatted the 32GB card when I got it, if I remember.

Either BB10 was easier, or I'm getting older. LOL

You need the exfat app for 64gb and larger SD cards.

Must be just for those models because I don't have that app and mine works fine. I formatted it on the computer first with exfat, put it in the Keyone and formatted it again then loaded it.
