It's supposed to as it is QNX based. A couple of posts around here have noted some issues but probably no more than you would expect with any other vehicle info system.

I think only the newer versions are qnx based.

The older versions run on Microsoft embedded system.

I could verywell be wrong tho

I own a Ford Edge 2011 and My Ford touch works with all my BlackBerry. Everything is fine.

I have 2 vehicles with MFT 3.8 and most things work fine. Functions includes MFT reading the text message as it arrives, playing music, using BlackBerry Maps, etc. One item that seems squishy is the interaction between MFT and BlackBerry Assistant. I haven't been able to figure out how to consistently route voice commands to BlackBerry assistant without having MFT eating them first.
There are quirks, including having to be on Bluetooth as source to get Maps voice prompts, which eliminates ability to listen to Sirius when navigating. MFT has same limitations with both Android and IOS 9. We have all the phone platforms in the family.

I have the same issue with assistant, need to call BlackBerry assistant and then go from there. I use Spotify for music, and it works best if it's running before you connect. When engaged, MFT shows spotify song playing, steering wheel controls play, etc. Once in awhile it doesn't work that way, but the Sync BlackBerry interface beats most other auto manufacturer's systems in my extensive car rental experience. My daily driver is a 2015 Ford and it's pretty seamless.
