Hello community,

A friend of mine ask me to update his Z10 to the latest official OS. In this case 10.3.2.680
Used the autoloader to perform the update. After installation was finished we started by setting up his accounts. 4 emails, 1 twitter and 1 Facebook. All of them apart from Facebook went well.
The problem is that his Facebook contacts are not appearing in his contact app list. After waiting about 30 minutes nothing happened so I deleted the Facebook app and reinstalled it but no luck. All other accounts are ok.

Any ideas how to proceed?

Maybe a silly question, but have you switched on "Show Account in Contact List" for FB, under the Contacts App settings.?

Yes it is on.
The Facebook account name is there but the contacts don't. Have never seen this problem.

... and you have presumably had the device logged into facebook for a reasonable amount of time since reinstalling the app?

Could the issue be related to the auto merge feature? On my device I have that turned off.

I don't recall seeing this issue on these forums before, but it could well be lurking somewhere. Sorry I can't offer you anything more constructive at this point.

Yes, it was logged for more than 30 minutes before reinstalling the app. After reinstalling I told my friend to wait a couple of hours and contact me again to see if it was working. Will wait and see what he tells me.

Auto merge was on by default.

We will see what happens in a couple of hours.

Somehow the OS was not properly installed.
After a couple of hours not just Facebook contacts were missing, all other contacts as well.

Reloaded the OS and now everything is working properly with my friends phone.

Have no idea what caused the problem.

Hi, thanks for following up. Re-load is always a good option if things aren't working as they should. I guess that no two installs of any OS are 100% identical - always a chance for some minor gremlin to creep in.
