Please explain to me how encryption works on my Q10. I've had a security issue and would like to know how I can use this feature for my benefit.

    Thanks in advance

Encryption on your handset will protect the contents of the device if it is stolen or goes missing as you need a password to unlock the device, even if plugged into a computer via USB. The same protection can be used for your media card as well, but keep in mind this only protects the device: your email and all application data are still sent using the security protocols offered by your mail provider, or dictated by the application developer.

I use the encryption feature on my Q10 because it is also my business phone, so it goes where I go and contains a good deal of customer information. With the encryption activated, if my phone is stolen there is no way for anyone to access the contents of the handset or SD card.
