In our company we are using BES 10.2.4 and mainly Blackberry Z10 devices. We forced all Blackberry to activate the build-in encryption. One of these smartphones had to be replaced by our provider. The user removed SIM and SD card but did not save the data from the SD card unfortunately.

The SD card is now of course not readable with the replacement device or any card reader. According to the user he has 1 GB photos on it. Is there any way to get access to the pictures?

    Thanks for your time,

As I understand it, no, needs to be the original device with the original OS load (no security wipes or reloads)

The decryption key is part of the device that encrypts the card. Unfortunately, unless you decrypt the card before putting it in a new device, you will not be able to recover the contents.

That's one of the drawbacks of encryption: if something happens to the hardware any content not backed up to a secondary source is lost.
