Which device are you using ?

You would have to install an android emoji keyboard that would then only be available for your Android apps. The GO keyboard is popular.

For native apps, you're stuck with copy paste.

I use the Word Substitution feature. Like for example, when I type*thumb it would turn in to 👍. Though I had to go find the emoji wanted, copy it and paste it in the word substitution app.
