    Thanks in advance for any help you can offer - I'm not the most tech savvy person, so please bear with me.

    Blackberry Key2, OS Oreo 8.1 (as far as i know)

    I'm traveling and I've been using WiFi when possible, keeping my data off. While on WiFI, my Microsoft Outlook emails for work come through as usual, but the regular personal emails and WhatsApp do not come through. I see the emails coming up when I check my accounts on a desktop computer in the hotel's lobby, but they're not appearing on my Blackberry.

    What might I be doing wrong? Thanks for your help here.

    Is this a problem with all Wi-Fi connections, or only public ones.

    I ask because for some reason I can't get my Gmail via the wifi at my workplace, then it all appears once I get home.

    What about your personal wifi setup at home? Can you get your email there?

    Hotels, lobbies, etc are generally all public networks. Could be the places you're connecting to have firewalls in place for some types of connections. Have you asked about it at any of the hotels you stay in? They usually have an IT person they can ask.

    Similar thought: does your workplace have a firewall? Try asking your IT person at work about it.

    I get my messages at home. It's everywhere I go in Europe as I have not been able to get my two personal emails at any location for two weeks now, but I get all of my work emails without a problem so it does not seem like the firewalls are the issue. Not just hotels, but also restaurants, WiFi hotspots, museums, laundromat, etc.

    Have you contacted your email provider? Have they changed anything - port numbers, security settings, etc - that would require you to update the email settings on your device?

    That almost sounds like 2FA but I'm not sure. Let's say probably security protocols?
    I missed the part if this problem is Wi-Fi only and email OK with the device on mobile data.
