From the specs it seems the Priv has a better processor (8 core vs. 4 core) but the camera on the DTEK60 has a higher resolution. Are there other key differences?

The 820 is better than the 808, even if the former has fewer cores. More efficient, faster architecture, less likely to set the phone on fire.

DTEK 60 should be better in every way except for batter maybe. Even then I would guess its close to the same and no bounds better

Ofcource DTEK60 will be better in every aspect...
Performance wise(820 processor better than older 808; and also there is 4GB Ram instead of priv only have 3gb Ram),
    Security wise(fingerprint sensor also ADDED),
And you can just assume that camera will be better, i cannot say much about it.
And main point is price... ONLY $499... Wouldn't be great deal..?
