[CrackBerry Question]

I purchased a dtek 50 from the Shop BlackBerry site and assumed that the phone was unlocked. I just arrived in a South Africa for a vacation and put in a local sim card. My phone is asking for a "Network MEP Unlock Code." I called my Canadian carrier (Wind/Freedom) but they told me that they cannot provide the code since the phone was not purchased through them. Any suggestions on how to unlock my locked phone?

Weird if you buy from BlackBerry site its should be unlocked , I would call BlackBerry support and asked them
