    Why are these passport boxes double taped? I couldn't find any sufficient answer. Isn't it clarified yet? Still no official answer?

    Double taped as in a used or refurbished Passport that you've bought which was supposed to be brand new and unused?

    Sorry. As you may know, some BB Passport boxes come with double stickers on either side (resealed, taped one on top of the other). Now I have the same problem. And it came shrink wrapped. Normally, it doesn't.

    May not be the issue here (?) but not unusual for a phone that has to pass through customs to be opened and then re-taped. If it's just tape.

    Is the second tape a BlackBerry seal? If it's the case, then it's because there was a software update. Look on the side, you probably also have two OS version label.

    If it's a customs tape... well you know it's was opened by customs

    Anything else, someone opened it and played with it!

    It's not a customs tape, it's the same, orginal BB tape. But I am not sure if they do this for an update.

    Nope, I'm sure this isn't for updating. Because the old tape is over the IMEI/PIN/etc label not under.

    Whatever the reason is, if it's a BlackBerry seal, then there's no issue. They could had re-opened the package to tons of reasons, including changing the included accessories or updating the disclaimer guide for legal reasons

    Don't worry about it. Mine came with no tape and was un-sealed. Just needed to lift the lip.

    So far, there's no problem, the phone is ok I guess. I've read it somewhere and checked my local time was also set to Reykjavik, lol. And battery cycle was zero.
