Well, I spent a couple of hours with Verizon who were very patient. They assure me my phone is provisioned for WiFi calling, but I can't see the options in any (even hidden) screen. It is grayed out. Before I got the phone, Verizon was out of stick but assured me it would work if I got the unlocked version from Best Buy. I have my -005 model, but no luck. Am I just out of luck or should I try something? Coverage at my house is terrible for all carriers. Thanks.
I'm not really sure.... there are dozens of threads here, and sure seems like WiFi Calling doesn't work on Verizon.
Thanks. Just checking to make a clean question because several of the threads seem to branch off onto Key2 and also fancy things like changing the OS in some way which is not my path. Bummer since the phone is capable and Verizon seems to WANT me to have the capability.
There is a difference is a front line sales/support person following a script to always be helpful.... because they know they are monitored. And that same person knowing it will never happen.
If "Verizon" wanted it to happen, it would happen. But they don't have time to support every non compliant phone that people buy off the internet (even it it's from them).
None of my key2LE (3) have wi-fi calling and we are with Verizon.
Thanks for the quick info, all. I don't see any simple tricks to get it working in the other forums, so maybe I just need to invest in a signal booster for my house and be done with it. It would help anyone who is here, I guess.
The good ones are more than a new phone....
True that -- which is why I've been delaying on getting once, but my house is a 1 bar zone for EVERY carrier, Verizon used to be good until a few years ago when they made some change to the local tower. So a booster would help my wife who has a Verizon phone and an AT&T phone plus any visitors. I'd switch carriers if my house got good coverage with any of them.
NO , WiFi calling does not work with a Key2 LE on Verizon. I have a Verizon Business issued BBE100-5. I spent two hours on the phone with Verizon and we finally found that the Verizon "device database" -- the Gospel as far as VZ techs are concerned -- says it doesn't work. So there you have it. Yes, they can provision it (or you can through the business portal) but it won't ever take. Sorry.
