Some how I created a story maker and I didnt want it. So I looked up how to delete it. Problem is all the photos went with it!!!
Having a passport is problematic. On one screen there will be a dot, dot, dot or a /. These symbols do different things on different screens and if you accidently touch one, look out! I tell people that its like driving down the street and being used to a red , round stop sign means stop. Then a few blocks later you see a round sign that is not red and no word on it and you sit at corner wondering what to do. Anyways, back to problem, I accidently created a "story maker" one day and then when I deleted it all the photos in it
are gone too. Checked file manager and there are no files there.
Are my photos gone for ever?

the photos should be wherever you photos are kept. On an SD card or in device memory. The story maker file should only delete itself and not the original photos. Are you sure the photos are not there? have you done a reboot and checked again?
