On ios if I'm reading something and want to know its meaning, just tapping on it will reveal the meaning via define. And is there a native note or something like on BB10 as on ios?

If you have Google selected as your search engine, long - press/highlight the word and tap the search icon (magnifying glass). This will show Google results including an entry for Webster's and other online definitions. For some reason, (for me) this doesn't work with Bing as the search engine. That's the closet thing I can think of to what you've described.
Thanks for your response, the experience I need shouldn't be restricted to Web alone I want a built in dictionary that pressing on a word would trigger it as it does for cut, copy, select all and share. A feature that would work on any text enabled app.

Thanks genghis! I had no idea this could be done! Unfortunately muyaad this is not embedded in the OS or anything like that... this is CB and we would be bragging about this feature all the time if it was there natively, and why is going through the browser not good enough?

No problem.
I suspect he was actually (indirectly) trying to brag about an iOS feature. The function I described would absolutely address the situation he described, and more. Btw, it IS part of the BlackBerry 10 OS. One of the many you won't likely hear about - unless it's buried in the help manual on the device.
Bragging about ios features?
You must have read it wrongly. My experience with ios is lengthy and I just have this BB10 for less than a week and there must be a learning curve from my end and asking about featured I used to shouldn't be seen as bragging or something else. In iOS everything is made easy, you strive for nothing there. And I'd like to experience another OS. I'm not ditching or joining even not bragging.

My apologies if I misread you.
Accepted, and my apologies if I sound somehow

Try Vocabuilder app from app world. It can run in offline mode. Select a word, then share and then select Vocabuilder to get the meaning.
There are other dictionary apps that support such functionality - search for dictionary or vocabulary in the app world.
