For Contacts: click Contacts app/swipe down from top/click settings/enable dark background
For BBM: click BBM app/swipe down from top/click settings/enable dark background
For Calender: calender app/swipe down from top/settings etc etc you get the picture.................

I believe the Passport uses an LCD display, which uses less battery with a bright display, than a dark one. This is probably why it's not available. The Z30 and the Q10 use an AMOLED display which has the opposite affect, and as such the dark themes are more available.
