I find I have a few words that always seem to get auto corrected (on my z10 and now my z30) to a word I don't want. One such word is "have" getting switched to "gave". Typically I stab at the backspace key until it zaps the word back to uncorrected or I erase it all and reenter it.
How do I teach bb10 to stop this?

Turn off autocorrect?
Settings -> Language and Input -> Prediction and Correction
Turn off "Auto-Correct with Space Bar".

Nah, the proper way to bypass a specific word suggestion is to swipe up on the fret right above the space bar (that contains the sequence of keys you actually pressed).
In the image below I want to type Systm, instead of system (which it is auto correcting in the space bar). The way to force and "teach" it is by swiping up at the fret.

Thank s will try this. Is the teaching immediate or must it be repeated a number of time or in a number of contexts?
I do really like the BlackBerry 10 auto correct and swipe typing. Just got to be more disciplined in swiping rather than typing the whole words.
