Categories for contact list?

First disappointment I've run into with my new (today) Classic is it does not seem I can set up categories for my contact list the way I could in my Palm Treo (Personal, Vendors, Professionals, Clients, etc.) Can this be solved-- perhaps an app available to replace the default one?

Thanks, but doesn't seem to apply. Only filtering options available are Favorites, BBM, SIM and Contact Groups, no function to create others.
