You'll need to use an autoloader for your Z30 to get it to 2836.

Source your z30 files from here...

Same link but start page thanks to Thurask.

Should have added that the 30 will be stuck on 2474 simply because Rogers hasn't pushed and likely won't push any newer updates to it....hence the autoloader as your easiest option.

Wow, really? I didn't know that. If I got it unlocked would it get the BlackBerry pushed update?

    Not necessarily.
BlackBerry unlocked devices should receive the updates when released by BB. Updates should be accessible OTA or via BBLink, but I believe there remain carrier and possibly geographical restrictions.
Carrier locked devices when unlocked remain at the mercy of the original carrier, although some owners reportedly may be able to access the updates when unlocked with Sim cards removed....that however has never worked for me.
Sadly the days of anticipated BB10 updates are undoubtedly behind us. With that noted the autoloader process is your best bet.

Follow the step by step in the first link I directed you towards....it describes the process clearly.
The appropriate autoloader for your device is located in Thurask's archives...you have a choice of several versions.

Normally the download is automatic. No prompting to download.
Current up to date version is 10.3.2.2474
To download software update on Z30.
    Go into settings.
Scroll down to software updates tap .
At bottom tap check for updates
