    connected passport using usb to my windows 10 laptop and opened blackberry link and selected my device and clicked reload.First it downloaded some software and then it started extracting device software and then entered into completing software update during this process my passport starts restarting this causes blackberry link to stop process saying software update encountered error.should i reload the device using autoloader and if yes then is it safe???

    Yep, run an autoloader and as long as you have the correct one, it's perfectly fine.
