For work purposes, my BlackBerry (which is running on Android 8.1.0) needs to have the December 05 2020 security patch, which is described here: https://source.android.com/security/bulletin/2020-12-01

However, my BlackBerry only has the November 05 2020 security patch; when go to settings and check for updates, it does not upgrade to the December 05 2020 security patch.

How can I upgrade my BlackBerry to the December 05 Android Security patch?

Type *#837837# into your phone dialer. What is your PRD?

Although if it's ANY BBF100-2 variant, you should be on the Feb 2021 patch.

When I type *#847837# on the phone, I get the message: "Connection Problem or invalid MMI code". The internet/calling otherwise works...

It looks like the code was supposed to be *#837837#" when I do that, I get PRD-65005-001

Oh, you said KEY². You actually have a KEY² LE.

So yes, you are likely on the last update for that phone ever.

Yeah business in the last year or so have really been pushing to have current devices connected to their networks. I'm actually surprised that if they are so strict on patches, they'd also be enforcing you be on Android 9 as a minimum.

Can you elaborate? I did not even realize that the there was really any difference between the KEY2 and the KEY2 LE. Is there anyway I can get this update for the KEY2 LE?

What makes you say that this is the last update for this phone?

Also, is there a way I can contact the phone manufacturers directly? I have so far had no success.

They are different products, and the LE has reached the end of the line. You are on the latest (and likely last) OS. There isn't much more to say.

BBMo is no more... TCL has absorbed it back into the main company. But TCL is still supporting the phones.... for general warranty purposes - 1 year or 2 years based on the market (phone bought before Aug 2020). But it's a 2018 phone that was never "promised" any updates, so you aren't going to get anywhere there.
