I have a Q10 sitting in the drawer, as I didnt like the way it operated compared to my Bold and the older software. Can the Q10 run the new Blackberry software version? How would I load that?

Yes the Q10 can run the newest OS10 version. I am running a leak 1154.
You would need to download the correct OS for your phone and follow the instructions in my signature.

The official OS is not yet out but you can certainly load a leaked OS on your Q10. Alternatively, you must wait a couple of months for the carriers to push it out.

It sounds like you don't even use the Q10. As long as you're OK losing any data store on the device (photos/music/SMS, etc), then you should go ahead to try loading the OS 10.3.1.1154 Q10 auto loader.

Yes, Q10 is able to run the newest 10.3.1 OS. It will become available in Feb 2015 officially. If you will want to install the latest leak 10.3.1.1154 you have to head to a thread in the forum named OS 1154 + radio1155 " blitz" non destructive and read carefully the first post. Everything you need to know is there.

Amazing!!!! You have a Q10, that was designed to run the BB10 software parked in a drawer while you went back to your older Bold. Now you ask, if the Q10, the newer phone will run the newer software?

Please keep in mind that the q10 was released after the z10. And bb10 was release with the z10 so yes all you have to do is go on your phone and update it. And presto you have the latest official bb10 software. For 10.3.1 though you have to wait a few months ( by February) for the official release but if you want you can run a leak. But giving the circumstances I'm assuming you wont.
