Encrypted and safe. You need to have a device signed into your BBID to access it.
Thank you.Without my BlackBerry Id it cannot be decrypted or bruteforced?

I've never heard of it being done. It is designed to be completely secure.
There is nothing 100 percent secure. The fact is that if you need 1000 years to brute force Crack a password that password is secure. In the same way is secure your backup. In a few years someone might discover a new way to Crack passwords or find a new processor able to Crack passwords faster. Until then you are pretty safe from cracking. Do you think that there might be something mighty interesting in your files that someone could be tempted to use a unusual amount of effort to Crack your files? If no the you are OK.
I was leery of having photos on my media card not encrypted because a scumbag could possibly use them to get the GPS location of my flat screen TV. It has been in many pictures of my kid. I encrypt the card. Now about a stolen backup, I'd worry about the other information on the computer that it is on also

Yes, if by backup you mean your SD card, unless you actively encrypt it, anyone can read it.
