Apparently yes. When I reactivated my curve while my 30 was I need of repair. I did not change data plans back to bis. However, I did notice significant performance impairments. Compared to when it was on bis. And yes it used the current data plan. Bis is a BlackBerry (not vzw) data plan that is unlimited. The curved showed significant data usage against my data plan.

guys i had recharged BIS on my idea sim
but they aren't working
are there any settings that should be made on my 9720
i had called many times to idea customer care but those fools don't know about BIS settings they always say normal internet settings.
guys please reply me are there any settings that i have to be made in my 9720

First, are you sure you're on a BIS plan? If your carrier has no idea, maybe they don't offer them anymore.

Second, make sure you have the correct APN settings for your carrier
