Is there an app I can download for my z30 that will lock the screen without having to use the physical button? I'm afraid it will wear over time.. I've tried downloading android widgets but that obviously didn't work. Just looking for a shortcut to close/lock my screen without using the actual button on top.

I do know 10.3.1 will bring physical keyboard shortcuts (default is K to lock), but I'm not sure that's possible on a virtual keyboard.

Just use the button. I just tried/looked and if you turn off the swipe to wake, you use the button. You will more than likely be upgrading your device before the button wears out. Just don't go "animal" on it and all will be fine. I have never had and issue will any buttons (power/wake etc) on my Storm II (almost 2 years) and Torch 9850 (over 2 years), which got a real workout during their "service life" with me.

    Enjoy the device.....

You can also set the automatic screen lock to its lowest value (1 minute, on 10.2.1.3442,) but 1 minute is obviously not as immediate as user action to lock.

The power button will not wear out. This isn't a cheap android 50$ phone.
