OK folks finally it is here the update of all updates (well OK maybe not just sounds good). I have a dilemma I have 2 phones a Z3 and a Q10 and I do not have enough data plan in my phones or bandwidth to download 1.4 gb on each phone, I want to maybe use BB Link to download to my laptop, first question is that possible, second question can I use BB Link for 2 devices and have separate backups for both and so forth and profiles and so on without cross contaminating them.

in general it is possible to update via link.

But I hope that you do not want to tether your Laptop to your phone, download the OS once and install it on both devices? That is not possible because you need a special OS for each device. The Z3 OS will not work with the Q10.

to your second question: You can manage several devices with BlackBerry Link. I have a Passport and a Z10 and it works flawless

Yes, you can use BB Link for both phones. It identifies each phone separately. You can backup each phone separately also, so you shouldn't have any cross-contamination. I believe it will download the update separately for each phone, so expect that. Use wifi, if at all possible. Good luck!

Ok that is all I need, also if I do a complete backup then click on factory restore (prolly need t do that phones have never been reset) will that do a download of the latest os then install or will it do what came with phone, THEN i have to do the update ?
