For starters there won't be just one American classic. There will be a one that operates on common frequency like 1800-1900 used by AT&T, Rogers, Bell and Telus. There will be an AWS model used by T-mobile and Wind Mobile. There will likely be a cdma model used by Verizon.

I haven't a clue how many different carriers there are in China or what frequencies they use but you'll need to check either the one you intent to subscribe to and see which device you'll require. If the carrier matches the frequency of one of the American models then it will work fine.

If you're talking about mainland China, the Classic can be used only on China Unicom, and only on their UMTS (3G) network. It won't work on their LTE network, nor on China Mobile or China Telecom.

Hi you should have no problems roaming in China with your Classic. I had a Verizon Z10 before it was stolen and I had no issues with it at all. Still rocking 24-7 with my Z10 & 16GB Playbook
