Lately I have been experiencing a massive mobile data bleed with the browser. I don't watch videos and try and stay with mobile websites. I have cleared my cache also. But in 15 days I have used 1.6 gigs. That is seriously high for me and my usage has not changed.

Are you sure it's the browser? Why? Don't you have about 50 other apps on your device?

Is your tether or Hotspot on. The Hotspot will always use data.

No I don't use tether and I have not used mobile hotspot in a long time. This is a new issue in the last 3 months.

Since it's a continous increase did you ever a reboot your device? I just can't imagine that a regular running BB browser could cause such a traffic. After a reboot there should no browser process run at all. I guess you have a zombie process running in background. BTW: you must also have battery drain with that traffic.

Additional idea: if you have the possibility to let your wifi router log the internet traffic, switch on wifi and switch this on. Then you see what servers are requested all the time and perhaps you get a clue where it comes from.

Hey, Spiegel Online writes actually (in German) about an Android malware called "Dubsmash 2", visible as "Settings IS" icon, running in background and permanently causing clicks and probably also downloads on pornographic websites. I don't See anything called settings is anywhere so I hope its not that. I do periodically restart my device weekly so I don't think it would be that either.
