That means you don't have flash available. If you're under OS10.3, then you can go to the browser settings, tap on 'Display and Actions', and turn on Flash.

Most smartphone manufacturers are going away from Flash as it is unsupported old technology. BlackBerry are keeping up with everyone else in this aspect.

Not every video needs flash. You're going to have to find those videos.

    Mostly on mobile websites.

Nobody's gonna make anothe flash plugin, even Adobe stopped supporting the mobile flash plugin, that's why BlackBerry and others dropped flash out of the OS. The technology is old and is being replaced with HTML, for example youtube works just fine even without flash

There are a lot more websites than just YouTube that don't rely on flash.

Are there specific websites for which loss of flash will be a problem (sorts, news etc.)? Are the other changes in 10.3.1 worth it relative to 10.2. xxxx? Thank you for your feedback.

Most that not all websites that aren't optimised for mobile will likely have problems, specially with videos, but there will still be a lot of websites that are not optimised for mobile that won't have a problem. Don't worry about it too much.

But I do believe all the changed in 10.3.1 do outweigh this one change.
