Does AT&T even have 2G coverage in your area? Because you're not going to get 3G/4G from AT&T on a 9930, should have bought a Bold 9900 as the 9930 is meant for Verizon.

+1 for this aharon. It's probable that your 9930--unlocked or not--may be technologically incompatible with today's networks due to the issues Bla1ze mentions.

The technology of the 9930 doesn't match your Network. The primary tech of a 9930 is CDMA and AT&T uses GSM radios. While the 9930 has some GSM capability as a World Phone, the channels it has are different from those used in the US, therefore it won't work for you. As noted, you'd need a US BB 9900.

We use T-Mobile 9900s on T-Mobile and get full 4G data and have for years. We did have a number of AT&T 9900s that worked fine on T-Mobile until mid-2017, now they only get 2G/Edge network Bla1ze mentioned; am guessing if we took these ATT branded devices over to ATT they'd work fine, so you might want to consider buying one of those. Beware though any phones manufactured in Mexico and Germany will not get 4G access, which we've seen increasingly the last year or so via Amazon and Ebay purchases. Damn what we wouldn't pay for a fresh generation of Bold devices!
