Bought a device from a BlackBerry employee who reported it stolen.. What should I do?

Hi everyone,

I'm a big fan of crackberry, but I've never posted before as I'm really stumped with what to do. I've had about 10 BlackBerry's over the past 10 years of my life and LOVE the Q10 to death. About 10 months ago I purchased a Q10 from a BlackBerry employee in Halifax, NS, which also has the ID stencil Not for sale 044 on it at the bottom.

2 days ago it gave me the "Device Pin is Blocked' code. What should I do? The BlackBerry employee's name I do not have as I deleted the e-mail but BlackBerry would have it on file. Any suggestions or what I should do would be greatly appreciated.

you purchased a device that has "not for sale" on it. there is nothing you can do.

Uhh why would you buy a device that says Not For Sale? I mean it's. ...Right there. NOT for Sale.

Unfortunately, don't think there is anything you can do. Mark it as a loss and buy you a new q10:-)

It says "not for sale" right on it so that you know not to buy it. It's finally caught up to you and the phone is most likely garbage.

Not for sale devices are given to employees by BlackBerry for testing, and the employees must return them to BlackBerry. If they don't, the device is deactivated. The Q10 wasn't his to sell in the first place.

This. He's illegally selling property that's technically BlackBerrys.

Didn't a version of sachesi or darcys tool allow you to change your pin. Would that fix this for the OP?
