    I didn’t think a 9930 is compatible with AT&T network.

    Agreed...I believe the 9930 was CDMA while the 9900 was GSM and AT&T compatible.

    I have AT&T branded 9900 and I believe on AT&T a new SIM will autoloader provision even BIS for now.

    I suspect the 9930 was for either VZW or Sprint and could always be carried locked

    9930 was a CDMA version and would only work on 2g for ATT. You are out of luck now with that device as 2g has been shutdown. You need the 9900 version.

    And don't think about taking it over to Verizon... they won't active it either. All phones must be VoLTE compatible, and the 9930 is a non-LTE phone.
