The trick is to find a battery that hasn't been sitting in storage for the last 5 years.

    Where are you from?

As mentioned, there are plenty on Amazon and eBay in North America...

With the prices you should be able to find, I wouldn't worry too much about the quality. You can probably find them at 80 to 90 % less than their original price. Even if the quality has diminished a bit, you'll still wind up with a pretty good bang for your buck.

It's not going to be fresh out of the factory, that's for sure.

Fellow Z10 user here, I've bought a 'new' battery in the last year and it works just as well as expected.

"Lithium-ion batteries age. They only last two to three years, even if they are sitting on a shelf unused. So do not "avoid using" the battery with the thought that the battery pack will last five years. It won't. Also, if you are buying a new battery pack, you want to make sure it really is new. If it has been sitting on a shelf in the store for a year, it won't last very long. Manufacturing dates are important."

They can still be found. I think BatteryGiant still sources a manufacturer in China (where else) for BB phones and others. They are new (relatively) but maybe not OEM.

You can if you look hard enough. They may not be OEM but they are "newly made". For example: Battery for Blackberry Z10 | Blackberry cell phone batteries

I would still insist on obtaining the date of manufacture first.
