    My BlackBerry q10 is not recognizing that it is connected to pc via usb...it simply starts charging as it is connected to charger...I want to make a backup but don't know how,i tried restarting pc as well as phone even taking out battery....please help

    Try using another data cable.
    And change your storage and access setting as well.

    It would be better if you share us your os version.

    Anyway why do you want to connect for? If you wish to transfer data you can connect your phone through your wif.

    I did tried another data cable n another pc as well. i'm on os 10.2 all I want to do is transfer files between my pc n q10...

    Do you have Blackberry Link software installed? If not, go to BlackBerry website, download Link and try again.

    Uninstall blackberry device manager with your phone unplugged, Uninstall blackberry link, restart pc, when it's up plug your phone and follow the direction on your pc, there should be a fake cd rom that will appear with the file you need to reinstall desktop manager/link on your pc using the exact version needed for your phone

    If you want to want to transfer data there is another way but not a solution to your issue but alternative way to transfer data.

    PS: to use this feature you pc and your phone must be on the same wifi network.
