Anyone have an issue with swiping up gesture? I ran the swipe test on the BBVE app and there is a defined area of the screen that is no longer touch sensitive. It's perfectly positioned that makes swiping away from apps a struggle. I'm ready to do a soft factory reset but wanted to get your take before I do it.

Note, I did ask @blackberryhelp and they said it was a very unusual hardware defect.

    Hello

Yes very odd. Do you have a screen protector on? If you do remove, do a reset device and run the BBVE tests again.

    Regards

This happened to my LG G2 and it was a hardware defect. If that's the case, there's nothing you can do other than replace the screen. I hope a software reset works for you.

It seems that parts for the original Passport aren't too expensive. Parts for the SE are more costly, and those for the AT&T version seem rare or unavailable.

If you're a DIYer, look for a screen with the back mounting plate already attached, unless you're happy to work with that double-sided tape and like aligning parts with absolute precision. You'll see the difference in the photos.

Thx @Shuswap for the advice. I'll let you know if the reset solves the issue although given your experience I'm not hopeful.

I just learned about the 32 second reset (holding both power key and bottom volume key) about a week ago. Is that how you are going to reset your PPSE?

@Berryswipe never heard of the 32 second reset. I was going to do a security swipe via Settings.

Sorry @BerryRipe not swipe! Does the 32 second reset do same thing as a security swipe (factory reset)?

No worries LoL. Supposively it's the same as a battery pull. I read about it here in the forums.
