Can you explain the event/offer to which you're referring when you say Android wanted to "buy in"?
Can I have some of what you had too? Must be some really good stuff.
BlackBerry once received a buy out offer from a company 'Fairfax financials', and rumours say that even Google also had the interest..
But someway somehow BlackBerry did not sell out..
In fact BlackBerry did think of selling but didn't.

The Google interest was a rumour. I don't think there was ever confirmation of that.
Fairfax, on the other hand, is the reason BB still exists. They made a large investment in BlackBerry (equity and convertible debentures). They recently led the refinance of that debt as well. Prem Watsa, who runs Fairfax, is the Lead Director of BlackBerry.
I never hear any rumor of Fairfax wanting to buy BlackBerry. Fairfax owned a lot of BlackBerry stock and they and the rest of the board wanted to try and sell BlackBerry in the Fall of 2013. They received no offers and then decided to invest in BlackBerry and bring in a Software expert CEO to transform the company.
