It appears that I can not connect to the GPS on my phone. I open maps, set my destination, start the trip, and then fails to start the route. Been like this for a while. I have turned off location services then turned them back on. Hard reboot and nothing helps...

Which device and which OS are you on. If you haven't already, download BlackBerry Virtual Expert from BB World and run the tests.

Z30 on official 10.3.2.2639. Ran the tests with scores of 12 to 19 for the 5 satellites. Is that adequate? Still BlackBerry maps has issues creating a route for my destination.

Where are you located and has this problem just started? Have you used Maps in the past with no issues?

Used maps going around Calgary no problem few months ago. Try using it 2 weeks ago and no go.

I don't know what else to tell you. My Z10 is still going strong after 2 and a half years. My BB maps still works just fine. Used it this past weekend.

If you're picking up satellites you're probably OK.
Have your app permissions changed? I would check settings to make sure and also install another map app to see if that works.

BBVE won't correct any issues but it can help troubleshoot.
From what you described you are getting satellite signals but the map doesn't seem to be able to interpret them.
There could be a software glitch but unfortunately BBMaps is "hard-coded" into system so not easily reloaded.
As previously suggested did you attempt an alternate map app if available to see if it is a GPS hardware problem.
If your reboot didn't resolve issue you may need to factory restore or reload OS . Both processes easily completed with BlackBerry Link.

yeah sometimes this occurs as well, seems the BB Maps app has got some minor bugs here..

try emailing bbappsupport@blackberry.com and let them know of this issue, who knows they'll fix the Maps app quickly and launch the update..

I finally had time to check out another app, waze, and it came up that no GPS is available. Thanks for the help but I think my only option left is a reload of the OS.

When I reload the OS all my pics and videos are safe on my SD card?
