I'm trying to back up my Blackberry 10. Have downloaded all the Blackberry Link software to my Windows PC. I'm connected to the PC with a USB cable. The pictures are merrily syncing away, but when I try to sync contacts, or run a back up, I get the message that this can't be done 'when the connection is through wifi' and to connect with a USB.
It's definitely connected by USB because I've checked via My Computer.
Any ideas?
What version of Windows do you have....
To be honest there are issues with LINK... it's outdated software that many have problems with and is not officially supported in Windows 10. Hardware like USB3 can be an issues, other software like iTunes or Security Utilities are sometimes and issue, your trying to sync contacts.... won't work with newer version of Outlook.
Best option is to do a search here and just start trying things.
For backing up data, look in BlackBerry World for Ultimate Backup.
For automatic two-way sync'ing of your Office Outlook Calendar and Contacts all you need to do is sync your PC and phone through your Outlook.com account.
In your Link homescreen, you should have two tabs, one with your PC and on the bottom the one with your phone name. Do you see a wifi symbol in your phone tab?
