No, it's not a joke, it's what happens when a product line and OS reach end of life. Development stops, the are no new devices, no significant features are added, and as things stop working they aren't fixed. This has been going on for more than a year. BlackBerry is now clearing out the remaining BlackBerry 10 devices inventory by cutting prices while there are still people who will make a purchase.

As for BlackBerry Link, it's more likely to work with older versions of Windows and Mac OS. BlackBerry did provide some help, by identifying an issue with iTunes, but Link is not going to be updated. There are a couple of threads which have discussed this issue and provided some solutions that may or may not work for you. There are also alternatives to sync'ing contacts, calendar events, and music.

Blackberry clearing out remaining BB10 devices? Who would ever buy a brand new phone, which can't even be backed up by its own native software? Win 10 is not a month old OS, they've had time to fix that. Plus Blackberry said they would support BB10 for some time. They're selling brand new phones and don't even mention they won't work on Win10.
If You don't support Your products, don't offer them for sale. Do they mention on shop.blackberry.com that those devices won't connect to new pcs? Nope Learn from Apple how to support own products.

It works for some folks like me, and it is not actually no longer supported on Win 10. FYI: BlackBerry Link is not supported on macOS Sierra or Windows 10 | CrackBerry.com

    I agree with K Ts.

Sure, it's a good thing for some people that they are cutting prices. But those people probably do not know, that they may can't connect their devices to their computers, PC or Mac. Of course they don't, how would they?
BlackBerry stated that they wouldn't develop BB10 anymore, but they also said that the support would continue. Since there is an update for BB10 on the way, why would anyone think Blackberrys desktop software won't work anymore?
They at least need to mention it in the product information, or else they are misleading people.
I'm currently getting support by BlackBerry and this matter makes it really difficult for the BlackBerry team to do so.

People please, stop spreading wrong information.

Link is not supported by Blackberry on Windows 10, that is true.

But Link still WORKS on Windows 10. Also do Blend.

To the OP, do a quick search on the forums and you will find several threads were this issue was addresed.

It's clearly stated by BB in the software page:

System requirements: BlackBerry Link for Windows - BlackBerry Link for Windows - 1.2.4

As you've seen by the answers from those members who have posted links there are ways to keep link working.

One of the problems with requesting help is the number of posters who post misleading and anti BlackBerry stuff. It's getting harder now on CB to just get positive and accurate responses.

I hope your issue is resolved.

Hi. I do not know if I am allowed to post something from other sites, but a guy under the name "cjsasl" from BlackBerryForums.com - BlackBerry Support Community Forums found way to make Blend and Link work. Please see below his comment from the site mentioned:

:Just in case anyone else has this issue here's how I solved it.

Click the link below & download "Re-enable IPv6 on nontunnel interfaces and on IPv6 tunnel interfaces" and installed that. Rebooted my laptop & Blend connected first try.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/kb/929852

Hope this saves someone else the aggravation I went through.

    Cheers..."

P.S. Restart PC and Phone keeping the cable connecting them plugged in.
