Blackberry Backup locked phone

Is there any way to backup a locked blackberry 9315/9320? or to recover any of the contacts from it?
Brother found it on the street and snapped the simcard trying to sell it im trying to get it back to its rightful owner by getting some contact information or something from it?

There is no way for you to do anything. The carrier can probably get it back to its rightful owner thought. Just take it to the carrier of origin.
